Music Video Assignment
Finding Historical References and/or context in modern music
 |
Each student will be required to find a song that was written and
published between 1965 and 1984.
|
|
The song must have a message that addresses cultural, ethical, or moral
concerns.
|
|
Students must possess a legal copy of the music that can be played at the
same time that the PowerPoint project is shown.
 |
Students will be asked to show a copy of the original album, CD,
or Tape cover.
|
|
Students need to include a reference to the original musician(s) and
their production companies along with a the song lyrics.
|
|
|
Clipart and photographs must be cited using standard bibliographic rules.
|
|
Students will write a 300 word mini essay that describes the song's intent
and message. This essay should be a first person opinion paper that explains
what the student feels the song is saying and why she or he selected it for
the the project. (The students need to attach the song lyrics to this essay.)
